A Phase Contrast Microscopic Study on the Effect of INH on the Rat Peritoneal Mast Cells

Abstract
|
|
|
The author studied the influence of INH on the peritoneal mast cells in rat by means of a phase contrast microscope. The experimental animals were injected every day with 10mg. per Kg. body weight of INH through intramuscularly. They were sacrificed by ether anesthesia and opened the anterior abdominal wall, and then collected the peritoneal fluid. The average numbers of the peritoneal mast cell was counted in each specimen over 6 fields under 450 magnification and obserbed with reference to the morphological changes of peritoneal mast cell.
The results were as follows:
1. Numbers of normal mast cell decreased from 4 days after INH administration.
2. Moderate swelling mast cells increased from 4 days after INH administration.
3. Marked swelling mast cells obserbed at 6 days group and then markedly increased
from 7 days after INH administration
4. Degranulated mast cells show increased tendancy in accordance with time lapse.
